There's at least a dozen horses gently grazing in this field, next to the car park at the Home of Rest for Old Horses, Douglas.
A good proportion are ex-trammers, and certainly not shy !

Some of the horse came for a pat / scritch, others were a little more interested in catching up on grazing.
I think the nearest stern is from a Shire ...

Whitby 's No 2 lifeboat, the 'Jacob and Rachael Vallentine', being lifted by a steam crane, prior to being loaded onto a train at the LNER Poplar goods depot, UK. It has just been reconditioned and four horses were needed to haul it from the docks to where it was placed on the train. It is 34 feet long and with a beam of 8.5 feet.

Tucked up there, almost out of sight, are a few carousel horses.
The pipework is the compressed air supply for the working exhibits. It is easier to change things around and check for leaks with it exposed like this.

"William Riley" being towed by black horses - rather calmer conditions for a launch than in her working life.

There is a video clip of this on youtube... as part of an advert (in 2015) for a bank (which uses a black horse as a trademark).
