Close-up detail of a bramble flower. [or blackberry, if you prefer] I hope the bees enjoy their visits ... I like to make bramble jelly, which is why I allow some brambles to grow in the garden, then I know the fruit are "clean", as they haven't been treated with chemicals.

Red currant in close-up, Flowering Red Currant [Ribes sanguineum]. Extremely attractive to our local bumble bees, the bush literally hums with their buzzing. The birds like the fruit, so much so that I rarely get to find any ripe berries.
