Looking at the varnished roof and light fitting in F54. Note; the patress is, IMO, too thick. and ... Whilst it looks nice, varnish isn't right for this class of carriage.

The upper image shows the restored porthole set into a thick mahogany panel, with the new cabin ceiling above. Compare and contrast with the white gloss paint, and verdigrised porthole prior to restoration. Note the exposed wiring, yes some of it was lead sheathed!

The refitted cabin, view aft towards the wheelhouse. main changes; revarnished matchboards, galley rebuilt - which included moving the hot water geyser, replacement steps. There is a little work still to do, including re-upholster all the seating.
