After a walk, Ben's decided that this patch of floor is now the best place to lie down, as it is cool ! Sadly, not the best of shots as a) the camera settings weren't correct and b) I was laughing so much the camera was being shaken about.

Floor planks laid over the underframe, some overhang has been allowed, in case of shakes or splits. These will be cut to their final length shortly.

We discovered that wooden floor planks between the two sets of steel floor plates (ie - a steel wood steel sandwich) were mostly rotten. As part of the renewals, the three floor plates were de-rusted and painted with red-oxide.

The two layers of floor planks have been fitted to the cill frames (laid in the double diagonal format). Passenger end and the two end "quarters" have been erected and glued up before primer was applied.

All go, as work proceeds on adding the floor (now stained and varnished). The other exhibits are also taking shape around the "Big Saloon" - the ironwork alongside are the side water tank and part of the frames of early steam locomotives from the R&E Railway.

Almost all the floor planks are laid and the side sections are arriving. Some are lighter than others and need the cant rail and roof sticks to maintain proper positioning.

Almost all the woodwork is finished now, just the roof to dry fit. Cutting the air vents was an interesting exercise.

We took advantage of the lift to capture some images of the underside of the floor and cill structure. (Only two have been posted)
