The official, safe walking route from Highley Station across to the Engine House. Just past the gates, you are going to cross over the tracks giving rail access. Just one of the reasons for strong fences and gates, at least the surface of the path is even.

Opened in 2008 and houses various locomotives that are "out-of-ticket" [some are awaiting maintenance to return them to operating service], plus various items of rolling stock and a small artefacts musuem. A number of visiting engines have appeared, and gala events are held here. There are other facilities including a cafe with a splendid view over the line from the nearby station.
