What looks like a fossil frond of something, probably seaweed, as this is in, I think limestone. Spotted in a garden.
[sorry, but I would not have used that paviour in a walkway zone]
E2A - it's not actually a fossil, I've been misled by the shape ... It is Manganese Hydroxide dendrite.

Discovered that this household has three trilobites between them, and one more ammonite after I opened a present yesterday.

damaged fossil shell - not identified, but the host rock seems to be carboniferous limestone one of the blocks on the foreshore at Crosscanonby.
gbw - rock not known

Recently found several pieces of this rock on the foreshore at Parton, Cumbria.
The red strands look like fossil seaweed, and the background might be sandstone ? No idea what the rock actually is, but probably not that "local" as it is part of the sea defences.
I'm sure I've seen the darker red "lumps" in another context, also on sandstone.
