Root mat - mass of interlocking, semi-exposed tree roots on the north bank. Mostly pine trees in this area, if I am recalling correctly. The surface soil and leaf litter has been worn away by people walking over the area to get closer to Low Force.

The main frontage of the hardware shop on the corner of Bridge Street and Horse Market in Middleton-in-Teesdale. Signage says "J.Raine & son" in a very traditional style. [I believe the shop was for sale in 2020, but I don't know if it did change hands]

New gates and signage, this one asks visitors to remember that although this place is know to be an ANOB [Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty] it and the surrounding farmland still needs looking after - take your rubbish home, watch out you don't disturb wildlife etc. and no fires / BBQs.
