The logo for British Railways between 1948 and 1956. This example is on the tender of 6000 at STEAM. (The GWR loco "King George V"). Nicknamed the "Cyling Lion" I prefer this to all the later logos, although the simple version of the "hadaway comeback" arrows used from 1965 are simple, clear and symbolic.
