Timber built upper stories of a building in Southgate St, Gloucester - pity about the coffeeshop chain on the ground floor - their branding was an eyesore.

Another reason to look up in Southgate. Above this beautifully preserved Edwardian shop front to G A Baker's and sons, Jewellers is the Baker's Clock. This chiming clock was built in 1904. The bells are struck on the quarter hour by the figures. These are, from left to right - an Irishwoman, an Englishman (John Bull), Old Father Time, a Scotsman and a Welshwoman - which looks like it should be the first line of a joke.
