The wooden Penmaenpool bridge spans the Afon Mawddach, one of the most scenic estuaries in Wales, not far from Dolgellau. Some interesting wooden models on display - which may or maybe not be for sale.

Dismantling the Corris van [Van 6] - the body has been lifted off to expose the underframe / chassis. The full length tie-rods and all the ironwork on the headstocks has been taken off, to allow the headstocks themselves to be removed. Source : TR

The high tides & onshore winds have built up the beach significantly, as well as bringing a load of driftwood ashore at Roker, mostly bits of branches washed down the River Wear during recent storms. This lump of tree stood out. I reckon that would make a good place to hang bags and towels.

Some extremely well made shoe stretchers, what caught my eye was the visible grain patterns, especially on the one for the right foot.

There's occasions when you find this sort of thing ..

There are a number of chairs and benches dotted around the car museum and Castle grounds. In the several hours that we were there, I saw most of them in use at one time or another.

I noticed the standard of the craftwork in the wooden surround before the details of "clock" face really registered.
