Signwriting details - The "Empty to Pinnox Junc" is authentic for Chatterley Whitfield waggons, as that was where the private colliery line met the national rail network [LMSR]. The numbers are the tare [ie empty] weight in Tons : cwt [hundredweights] : quarters ... So ... Six tons 7 cwt 2 quarters [so, in round figures, about 6 and a third tons in old money] Not my Image : fair use & public information ms 9th feb 2023

The doors on A1 are marked to show they are "First Class" The third class doors are unmarked.

A1 signwritten designation. A1 was the prototype of the First Class 4-wheel coaches, built in 1873.
