This somewhat tickled my sense of humour --- I presume that apart from looking pretty [ie arT] that this has been installed as a wildlife friendly item. Probably for bees, although I have seen Robins use something similar - without the lid - as a nest site.

mass-produced a batch of a dozen nest-boxes [March 2020] - there are a mixture of sizes in both open front and hole front designs. e2a - put up around the house and garden. e2a2 - and most were used, including one occupied by a wood wasp fraternity ...
