dht[18]/IoM[2] - DBHT Toastrack No.12 {2 0f 2}

Open plan toastrack [car no 12, built 1888] on Loch Promenade in Douglas. Motive power is, I think, "Andrew" [sorry about the framing / focus, he wasn't going at the speed I expected as I panned the camera]

dht[23] - No.12 [open toastrack]

Okell's is the local brewery - on No.18, the double-decker in the background. No.12 [built 1888] is the open toastrack in the foreground, and is, technically, part of the "service fleet" - although some work seems to be in progress. Note the ornamental paraffin lamps, nicely made modern replicas - the tinwork in particular is worthy of comment. Do "mobile" benches count ? [82 on 6Jan2025]

No.4 Loch Promenade, Douglas. The 1887 Jubilee Clock is on the extreme left. It was manufactured by Walter Macfarlane & Co at the Saracen Works in Glasgow, and some parts were sent to England for restoration in 1996. [it was re-sited onto a new plinth in 2013]

MER[17]/IoM[1] - Toastrack 41

MER Car 41 - a toastrack trailer. The shutters are down because the weather was wet and windy. Note: Trailer 41 was built in 1930 by English Electric as a replacement for a vehicle lost in the shed fire. It has 44 seats, shutters and carries the red, white & teak livery.

MER[17]/IoM[1] - Ramsey terminus

Car "21" & toastrack trailer "41" in the Ramsey terminus of the Manx Electric Railway. [this location is just short of the original station, you can see the poles in the background] {In 2023, the MER reinstated services to the original terminus} Note : Car 21 is classed as a 'winter saloon' with 48 seats and was built in 1899 by Milnes. Carries the green & white "nationalisation" livery - which is not the most popular.

FFT - Blackpool & Fleetwood 619 - roof

Looking at the roof of Blackpool & Fleetwood 619. This alternating light and dark timber is quite a common feature of tramcars. . The modern bulkhead light fittings and the choice of pale yellow paint aren't quite to my liking for a heritage tramcar.

Blackpool & Fleetwood 619 - single deck, roofed "toast-rack". There is a substantial tower amidships to raise the pantograph sufficiently to contact the overhead power supply.
