VoR(M)[24] - Pairs F.68 Isle of Man Steam Rly {6 o…

26 Apr 2024 23
Recast door handles, with the incised ends. The "Pairs" were two of the original 1873 4-wheel carriages mounted on steel underframes, running on bogies. F68 was formed from A9 and C13, as their underframe dates from 1909, it is likely that this was the first "pairing". It was withdrawn in the 1970s and then sold to the Phyllis Rampton Trust. After restoration, and being put onto 2ft gauge bogies it is now on display at Aberystwyth.

NER2853 - bottom door hinge patterns

30 Jan 2021 1 197
NER [North Eastern Railway] carriages are "bowsiders" - a term describing the curved lower bodysides. As a consequence, the lowest (bottom) door hinges need to have a much longer flap as shown by the nearest one (original, cast in 1901). These are suitable patterns for casting new hinges, originally made for the rebuild to NER2853, but will also be suitable for TR6.
