The Tynemouth headland [L->R] has a) The Castle [in the care of English Heritage ] b) The ruins of Tynemouth Priory [in the care of English Heritage ] c) The lookout / main facility for Tynemouth Coast Guard [currently unoccupied] The white building to the lower left is the clubhouse for Tynemouth Sailing Club - there are just a few masts visible from their boat park and hard. The club and it's members have quite a few "Hobby Cats" and Lasers, usually to be found sailing within the piers. Apologies about the photobombing crash barrier ...

Slightly better view of Tynemouth Castle, Priory and Coastguard buildings, from further over towards the Spanish Battery area ... but this one is photobombed by the car door mirror.

Didn't mean to include the dumpster in the line-up. There were 12 full-size engines listed in the rally handbook, at least 10 are visible.

this camera is weird at times - it has recorded only part of the starling on the left, whilst the one on the right obviously stood still for long enough to be recorded.

The Candlestick, viewed in the twilight, before the floodlighting switches on. Maybe imaging things, but that blurred bird looks somewhat like the local heron, as opposed to a gull.

Sunrise on a winter's morning, the warning for bad weather didn't apply - unless you count being very frosty. please excuse the photobombing reflection !

Looking above Inchgarvie, the view of all three bridges can be described as complicated. [for the uninitiated, the strange shaped object in the foreground is a modern type of boathook doing a photobomb]

A closer look at the smokebox on 35018. There are a few lamps on there, so I don't think she's showing any of the old headcodes. Forward visibility isn't great on these locomotives, although the smoke deflectors will help. The footplate crew were a friendly group, and proud of their steed. [after some other people had cleared my view, purple backpack walked into shot and started filming and stayed there - and my train along the coast was almost ready to leave ...]

East Coast HST on diversion along the Tyne Valley (due to engineering work elsewhere) The crowd were waiting for 6233 to pass Haltwhistle. We were lucky, the HST cleared the station just in time ...
