The spare or extra crank for "Lady Isabella" - this connects the wheel to the horizontal rods that connect to the vertical pumping rods. This has never been used, if there had been a need for more pumping power, the plan was to install this on the other side of Lady Isabella, to operated an additional set of rods ... Left here in 1854, it forms a useful seat as one walks up the side of the hill.
