Taken a few seconds after five Deltics started up their first engine. Loud is an understatement ! not to mention the clag clouds. There were seven Deltics present - the other two, also running on one engine, are behind the camera.

A short pause in the work, to admire another 1960s icon, as Deltic 55022 Royal Scots Grey thunders past on the railway to Carlisle. Much nicer than some of the modern traction that we normally hear, and some nice sunshine - as well.
