This old house - in the local vernacular style - is tucked away in Laxey, facing the original Laxey Substation across a narrow path. No idea how long it is since a family lived here, but I expect many years ... It is used by the staff & volunteers of the MER - also, possibly the SMR people as well - as a combined mess room, store and workshop. Probably as a place to hide away ...

Something like 700 people live in Miedzygorze. I was told that this house had been rebuilt since 1997.

As with many of the buildings in the village, the upper parts of this house are timber, only the "cellar" is built of stone.

The whole of this cottage [Tŷ Hyll] is largely built from large boulders, with no mortar. This end wall is actually the chimney! . Do a very nice cream tea, and with plenty of bees to watch ... I was convinced one set of bumble bees were living in the gap to the top right hand corner of the boulder without moss [see "note" on the image]. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowdonia_Society
