De Havilland "Chipmunk" [built under a licence from the Canadian designers, one of more than 700] a tandem single engine basic trainer used by the RAF, the ATC and University Air Squadrons. Other uses have included covert reconaissance. There are still a reasonable number still in airworthy condition. [A gliding club near me in North East England used to have one as a glider tug, I think I remember it was an ex-RAF machine. However, they couldn't have all the log book, as it had been signed by a VIP]

BAC Jet Provost T4 {XS209} These were developed in the 1950s by Hunting Percival [later, British Aircraft Corporation] and variants served with the RAF's Central Flying School and the RAF College from 1955 to 1993 as a jet trainer - hence the grey, red and white livery. They were retired early, in the 1970s when the airframe began to suffer fatigue problems. XS209 was built in 1964, and was delivered to RAF Manby in February of that year. It was purchased for SAM in 2006.
