Young shoots showing on the Rosa rugosa canes. The rugosas have been thinned and pruned again, to encourage flowering and growth from points lower down the canes.

Taken for WPD, but didn't quite give me the result I was after. It is in focus but the composition is just not quite there.

A very red and glossy Rosa rugosa berry or rose-hip. This was my second choice for WPD 2021, I liked the composition and the depth of colour but the lack of leaves to the left seemed to be a fault to me.

My rugosa "hedge" has more white than red bushes. This flower has somewhat elongated petals to the normal style.

Finally caught one of the bumble bees landing on the lip of a foxglove. [further identity info to follow : foxglove - Digitalis purpurea and the other leaves are from Rosa rugosa bee is a Bombus lucorum , the white-tailed bumble bee]

Fully open white rugosa flower. Most of this "hedge" are the white flowered veersion, with only a couple of the red type. Another plant the bees visit frequently.
