The newest Liffey bridge links Macken Street with North Wall Quay and is due to open in December 2009. When completed it will have four traffic and two pedestrian lanes. It will also be capable of opening through an angle of 90 degrees allowing ships to pass through. The architect is Santiago Calatrava, a designer of a number of innovative bridges and buildings. This will be the second Liffey bridge designed by Calatrava, the first being the James Joyce Bridge, which is further upriver. The shape of the spar and its cables is to depict the image of a Harp - one of Ireland's national symbols.

This pedestrian drawbridge was designed by architect Cyril O'Neill and opened in July 2005. It's named after the famous Dublin playwright, Sean O'Casey. The bridge spans almost 100 metres and has two balanced cantilever arms that swing open to permit boats to pass up river. It links City Quay on the southside of the Liffey with the IFSC on Custom House Quay. 09/10/09

Located on Spencer Dock by the banks of the River Liffey, The Convention Centre Dublin is a purpose-built international conference and event venue and is scheduled to open in September 2010. The building was designed by the Pritzker Prize winner, Kevin Roche, the internationally renowned, Irish-born architect, who graduated from UCD School of Architecture in 1945.
