The Bristol B175 Britannia, the worlds first long range jet-prop airliner, known as the ‘Whispering Giant’.
This example was built in 1960 and delivered to the Royal Air Force, as XM496. Retired from RAF service in 1975, it has since flown with Monarch Airlines, AFREK (Greece), Aerocaribbean (Cuba), and Transair Cargo Zaire.
Flown to Kemble in 1997, it has remained in the care of a group of aircraft enthusiasts who have restored it to its RAF Transport Command colours.
