Built in the early 1950s, the EM1/Class 76s, with a few exceptions, never strayed too far from their birthplace of Gorton. 26020, seen here at the NRM York, had the honour of hauling the inaugural train through the newly completed New Woodhead Tunnel in 1953. Sat24Apr10
