An eye catching display for the Ripleys Believe It Or Not! exhibition at the Royal Garden Plaza, Pattaya. A Douglas DC-3 EC-47N, formerly 43-49703 c/n 15519 of the United States Army Air Force.

Douglas DC-3 C-47. Delivered to the US Army Air Force in 1943 as 42-100547, it eventually passed to the Royal Thai Air Force as 547.
Seen here at the RTAF Museum, Bangkok.

A pair of former Royal Thai Air Force Douglas DC-3/VC47Ds, Nos 210 and 919 in a scrapyard near Si Racha.
A railcar of unknown origin can be seen in the background, which appears to be in use as a store.
Something of a local landmark, these two had been here for about 11 years, from 2000 - 2011, alongside the main Bangkok - Pattaya highway.
Both now residing at Nakhon Pathom.

Keeping No 210 (in the background) company is this DC-3/VC-47D No 919. Delivered to the US Army Air Corp in 1943, its previous owners have been the USAF, French Air Force, Royal Thai Air Force and finally the Royal Thai Army.

Douglas DC-3/VC-47D. Built in 1944, this machine started life with the US Army Air Corp, then passed on to the USAF, before going on to serve with the South Vietnam Air Force in the 1960s, eventually ending up with the Royal Thai Air Force as No 210.
Seen here in a scrapyard near Si Racha.
