Abbey Wood station Up platform looking west from the footbridge. The 1849 South Eastern & Chatham Railway buildings look a bit grubby. Commuters to London city centre observe the two trackmen at work. Today the station has changed completey out of recognition as Abbey Wood is the eastern terminus of the new Crossrail / Elizabeth line. This level crossing sign was very apt as we were being pulled by a steam engine! Taken from the brakevan of the Appleby Frodingham Railway Preservation Society rail tour around the British Steel steelworks complex at Scunthorpe.

GWR Class 43 HST diesel multiple unit 43192 departs from Lostwithiel station with 2E15 the 12.50 Penzance to Exeter St Davids service. HFF and have a great weekend.
