Dating from 1877 Middlesbrough's North Eastern Railway station was damaged by bombing in 1942 and the remains of its overall roof dismantled in 1954. However there is still some impressive Victorian ironwork around the site. This ornate wall and adjacent awning roof supports are on platform 1.
For most of the station's existence I suspect they were hidden under layers of black dirt and dust caused by air pollution and exhaust from steam engines but in recent years they have cleaned up very nicely.
HWW to everyone. Enjoy the day.

Back in mid-Covid times we took a stroll down New Walk in Leicester. Opened in 1785 the traffic-free street follows the trace of the old Roman Via Devana, the Colchester to Chester road through Roman Leicester (Ratae Corieltauvorum). This fine listed Georgian terrace with wrought iron fencing and balconies has always been a favourite.
HFF to everyone & have a great weekend.
