Every man & his dog are on the bus! The Leicester Transport Heritage Trust organised a running day to celebrate the "100th Anniversary of Municipal Motorbuses in Leicester". Preserved heritage buses ran from De Montfort Hall to the old tram depot on London Road in Leicester, a 4.5 mile roundtrip. We are on the top deck of Fleet number 154 a Leyland Titan PD2 bus built in 1950. Happy Bench Monday (or is it Happy Bus Monday?) to everyone. Enjoy the start of the new week.

We visited Kenilworth Castle about an hours drive from Leicester yesterday. It was well worth it. The castle is a very atmospheric set of ruins today but in the Middle Ages up to the mid-17th century it was a very important & impressive palace. The Civil War was its undoing and although it was never attacked the keep was slighted on the orders of Parliament to stop it being used in future. HBM everyone. Enjoy the new week.
