General Aung San was instrumental in Burma/Myanmar's struggle for independence from British rule but he was assassinated just six months before his goal was realized. He is considered the founder of modern-day Myanmar. The Bogyoke Aung San Museum was the residence of Aung San and his family just before his assassination in July 1947. His better-known daughter Aung San Suu Kyi grew up here as a child. This is part of a beautiful circular wooden fence around a shady verandah overlooking the garden. HFF to everyone. The early morning view from Norway House at 2501 Vallejo, San Francisco. The Fort Mason Center with the red roofs is on the bay front to the right & Alcatraz is the island in the bay. The main hill left is Angel Island State Park. We were staying at the Norwegian Sailor's Mission although we were not Norwegian or sailors! In fact it was very reasonably priced & open to anyone but this was not generally known. It had been recommended by our neighbour in New Orleans who was a retired Norwegian-American sailor.

The Garden of San Pedro de Alcantara is a fine place to sit & watch the world go by, read a book or just admire the view over the old city & castle. HBM to everyone. Enjoy your week.
