Taken from the Mirador San Nicolas viewpoint in full sun. This shot shows the snow capped mountains behind the Alhambra. The Sierra Nevada mountain range in the Andalusian province of Granada contains the highest point of continental Spain: Mulhacén, at 3,479 metres.

Driving from Cordoba to Mojacar along the A308 road east of Aznallos we stopped for this view of the mountains. One of the peaks is the Peñón de La Giganta in the Sierra Arana. The whole area is studded with olive groves on every hillside.

The exterior of Cordoba Central station looks like a furniture warehouse but its modern multi-platformed interior is light and airy and works well. I only made a flying visit but in that time several trains came and went including this AVE (Tren de Alta Velocidad Española) high speed service arriving from Madrid. HBM to everyone.

The Alcazar of the Christian Monarchs (Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos) in Cordoba. HWW to everyone.

The Torre de los Picos was built at the end of the 13th/beginning of the 14th Century It served to defend one of the entrances to the Alhambra that communicated with the Generalife. This entrance led to the so-called Puerta del Arrabal and from there it led to the barracks that formed the defense of the fortress. HWW to everyone.
