Looking like St Paul's in the Blitz one of the towers of Valencia City Hall is wreathed in smoke. Not from bombing but from the fireworks released from the Plaza below and exploding above. This was the 'Mascleta' which takes place every day at 2pm between the 1st & 19th March as part of the Fallas festival in the city. In fact it was more a series of very loud explosions in daylight than a firework display. The real display is on Saturday evenings but unfortunately we were not staying that long.
