After arriving with the 12.15 service from Loughborough on our immaculate "Royal Engine", LMS Fowler 3F 0-6-0T 47406, we have just run round and I've hooked up again. 47406 was built by Vulcan Foundry in Lancashire for the LMS in 1926.

On a grey rainy Boxing Day late afternoon Fowler 3F 0-6-0T 47406 storms away from Rothley with the 15.30 from Loughborough. In fact this really was the lull before the Covid storm which is still raging of course! The Jinty had a 6 month extension to its boiler ticket but sadly it passed the last part out of steam due to the pandemic closure. HFF to everyone and hope you have a sunnier weekend than this one in 2019!

Fowler 3F 0-6-0T 47406 runs round prior to taking out the 13.00 dining train. Plenty of steam here but later the Jinty ran out of steam at Leicester North and had to be rescued by us on Black 5 45305.
