Market Harborough is a market town situated in the far southeast of Leicestershire, on the border with Northamptonshire. In the town centre is the Old Grammar School, a small timber building dating from 1614. The ground floor is open, creating a covered market area. HBM to everyone. Enjoy the start of the new week.

The village of Cong is well-known as Inisfree the village setting for the 1952 film The Quiet Man starring John Wayne & Maureen O'Hara. The connections with the film have led to the area becoming a tourist attraction. The evening light tints the whole village with a warm glow on this icy winter day. HWW to everybody. After a boat trip on Alqueva reservoir we visited the beautiful town of Monsaraz . The lake can be seen on the far right & is the largest in Europe apparently. Off shot to the left it forms the border between Spain & Portugal in this region. The proximity of the border explains the reason for the presence of this fortress town. HWW to everyone.

Goats and dogs roam the street in the old town of Shibam Kawkaban. The mountain top city is 50km northwest of Sana'a at 3000m (9,800ft) altitude. Back in 1993 Yemen was a beautiful friendly place to live. and travel throughout most of the country was easy - only the Houthi heartland around Sada was tricky. Things have changed terribly for the poor people of Yemen (although in 1994 we were evacuated because of the civil war). HWW to everyone & peace to Yemen.

Beautiful sunset light over Eivissa castle walls (Ibiza). In the season no doubt most people would be on the beach (or still sleeping off their clubbing!!) but we saw just a handful of people on the climb up and around the castle on this late November Wednesday afternoon/evening.

The patisserie on Rue de l'Eglise is an inviting beacon in the pre-dawn half-light of Bollezeele town centre. The fence around the bell tower of Église Saint-Wandrille is silhouetted against the blue sky. HFF and have great & peaceful weekend.
