The National Railway Museum in York was relatively quiet so I could get a clear shot of world speed record holder LNER A4 4-6-2 4468 Mallard in the main hall of the museum. One of the diesels that replaced the A4s on the ECML, Deltic 55002 KOYLI is on the turntable behind. HFF to everyone. Have a great weekend.

General Aung San was instrumental in Burma/Myanmar's struggle for independence from British rule but he was assassinated just six months before his goal was realized. He is considered the founder of modern-day Myanmar. The Bogyoke Aung San Museum was the residence of Aung San and his family just before his assassination in July 1947. His better-known daughter Aung San Suu Kyi grew up here as a child. This is part of a beautiful circular wooden fence around a shady verandah overlooking the garden. HFF to everyone. Have a great weekend.

The Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft, near Doncaster, is the world's largest collection of preserved trolleybuses. It's actually located on what was RAF Sandtoft, an abandoned Second World War airfield. Sunday was the 60th anniversary of the formation of the British Trolleybus Society and the museum ran services with some of the society's fleet. In the afternoon this line-up was arranged for photographers. Right to left are BTS vehicles: South Shields 204, Huddersfield 631, Reading 113, Manchester 1344 and privately owned Nottingham 506. Full details & histories of the fleet can be found at www.britishtrolley.org.uk/bts-fleet-list .
