Crossley at Hanley

Action at the Hanley Bus Station Farewell event in 2013. EDV 406 is a Crossley 42/7. It was new to Airdrie in 1949 and sold in 1952 to J Wood of Mirfield who gave it fleet number 20. The original Sottish Commercial body was replaced with a Charles H Roe H56R in 1954/5. It is now a part of the Quantock Motor Services heritage fleet.

This art deco style building is all that remains of the facilities provided at the Lancashire United Transport bus station in Leigh. The bus company and bus station may have disappeared but at least the building is still providing a transport function.
