Palin's bakery and shop on Park Lane has long been converted to other uses but the sign on the end wall served as a reminder of the days when there were so many local bakeries. Sadly, in early May the sign was hacked off and the wall re-rendered. Another bit of history gone. :-(

All this lot was cleared away when they built the Victoria Park Flats. The flats have since gone the same way and will not be mourned.

A view from the days when Macclesfield had a real market in a real market place rather than the few sad stalls on a car park that we get today.
