There are still reminders of the internal railway system at the site of the Rochester cement works that was operated by Rugby Group until 2000. The closure of this works brought an end to all cement production in the Thames and Medway area.

Just back from a long road trip across Europe where I took far too many photographs. On the way to the ferry a stop at the Rochester works, formerly owned by Rugby Cement, revealed that most of the site had been levelled apart from the offices and the storage silos.
