The Didao system of the Jixi Coal Railway linked several collieries with a large brick and concrete washery and then on to a power station and an interchange with the China Rail network. Finding trains away from the washery required great patience and therefore the majority of photos feature the action there. In this case SY 0407 is about to take the side-tipping wagons within to deposit the contents.

SY 1213 heads back towards the Didao washery from the power station branch whilst an unidentified SY waits on the line from the China National Railways interchange.

On arrival in the Jixi area in early December we transferred straight from the sleeper train to the washery on the Didao system operated by the Jixi Mining Administration. Soon after the sun rose SY1213 was to be found stabled outside the control office whilst the crew had breakfast.
