A view along the Stoke to Derby railway towards Longton Station and the bottle ovens of the disused Phoenix Pottery. The pottery was started by Thomas Forester at High Street, Longton in 1877 and soon after erected this works in Church Street.

Bottle ovens are becoming rather scarce around the Potteries although this one by the Trent and Mersey Canal at Longport does appear to have had some conservation work undertaken.
