The Accrington Brick & Tile Co Ltd. ran the Whinney Hill brickworks between Huncoat and Enfield.

The Huncoat brickworks was one of two in the village, and produced high quality clay bricks.

Found on a recent walk, the light falling on this brick gives the impression that the frog is actually raised rather than indented. Rotate through 180 degrees and the truth is clear. The Redac brickworks at Huncoat near Accrington was closed in 1992.
