This is Bee Hive Mills, Great Lever. The Bee Hive Spinning Company Ltd. built the No.1 Mill (left of the tower) in 1895 and the No.2 Mill (right) in 1902. After a disastrous fire both have been demolished.

Seen on a notice in Chadderton Town Hall. I hate this type of local authority slogan. All very PC but little evidence that they actually mean it. In this case it appears to be a rapidly shrinking team if the newspaper reports are to be believed. What a load of nonsense. What they actually do is repair public/housing association properties in return for lots of money.

The Cheshire countryside is in good hands with the local farmers.
