Singing Ringing Tree.

The "Singing Ringing Tree" near Burnley, Lancashire, in the North-West of England. This "Panopticon" sculpture is situated about 1300 feet / 396 metres above sea level on the moors at Crown Point, a popular picnic site and viewpoint. It is made of steel tubes, like organ pipes, arranged in a spiral pattern to catch the wind from any direction and produce "strange unearthly music". It is about 15 - 20 feet high (for reference, the person in the photo is 6 feet tall) and it can be seen from many miles away. Photographed with a Sony RX100 compact camera and processed with Nikon Capture NX2 software. The VIDEOS (below) give a good impression of the sounds it can make. www.youtube.com/watch?v=JpAhRxqibT0 www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxKWcAPOHU0
