Brierfield in North-West England is known for its part in the Quaker movement....the nearby Pendle Hill is where George Fox had his "vision" which led to the founding of the Society of Friends (Quakers). A Society of Friends meeting house is still in use on the boundary of the town and the bridge over Pendle Water at the foot of the town is called Quaker Bridge.
