Mallard.

16 Sep 2021 6 2 427
A male mallard on the Leeds-Liverpool canal near Reedley in North-West England. This is one of a series of test-shots with my new "vintage" lens, a Tokina 400mm (EFL 600mm) telephoto lens which was designed for film cameras and originally released in 2009. These film lenses can be bought very cheaply now (I got this one for £75) and many of them work perfectly on a modern digital camera. Camera: Nikon D500 Processed with Nikon Capture NX2.

"Monet style" mallard.

15 May 2020 5 4 611
Photographed on Pendle Water, a small river near the town of Brierfield in Lancashire, North-West England. The "Monet effect" background was accidental but I like the way it looks so I will be trying to reproduce it the next time I manage to find the right combination of sunshine (for a wide aperture) and out-of-focus background reflections. See Note. Camera: Nikon D500 Lens: AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED Software: Nikon Capture NX2

Ducks by the canal.

03 Jul 2014 7 4 854
Unidentified ducks, possibly Mallards crossed with some other breed as I haven't seen them in these colours before, photographed by the Leeds-Liverpool canal at Burnley, North-West England. Photographed with a Sony RX100 compact camera and processed with Nikon Capture NX2.

Wycoller.....land of ducks.

12 Feb 2014 12 6 1068
Photographed at Wycoller Country Park in Pendle district, North-West England, on a cold day in February. This "Picnic area" is usually full of tourists who feed the ducks but there were very few people on this occasion and the ducks seemed quite lost and confused with nobody to feed them. Photographed with a Nikon D90 camera and processed with Nikon Capture NX2 software.
