Opgave was ‘verticaal’. Op de foto een potplant in de hal van een flatgebouw. Eerst had ik een soortgelijke scene in een andere hal, maar dan zonder de schaduw van een lantaarn, en juist deze schaduw versterkt de verticale werking van de compositie. De compositie wordt deels ingeraamd door de schaduw linksboven, links en linksonder. Rechts is open want het licht komt van die kant. Ook de plant groeit naar rechts De foto is door glas genomen, vandaar wat weerspiegelingen in het venster. Verder is de foto zwart-wit gemaakt, oorspronkelijk was de muur oranje. – – – Challenge was ‘vertical’. On the photo a potted plant in the hallway of an apartmentbuilding. First I had a similar scene in another hallway of the same building, but then without the shadow of a lamppost. This shadow really enhances the feeling of a vertical photo. The composition is partially framed by the shadow in the left corners and on the left side. The right side is open as the light falls in from the right and also the plant is growing towards the right. The photo was taken through glass, hence some faint reflections in the window.
