De kloof Sigöldugljúfur met zijn vele zijwatervallen. Door de kloof stroomt de Tungnaá. Het waterpeil wordt sterk gereguleerd, veel water stroomt nu door buizen tussen de (stuw)meren Sigöldulón (of Krókslón) en Hrauneyjalón t.b.v. electriciteitsopwekking. The waterlevel is strongly regulated, much water is now streaming through pipelines between the reservoirs Sigöldulón (or Krókslón) and Hrauneyjalón for the hydroelectric power stations.
