Josie's Booked in for Radioactive Iodine Treatment

I've booked Josie in for her Hyperthyroid treatment on the 29th June, 2016 at the Sydney University Vet Hospital. I've stopped her medication now, as she has to be off it for 2 weeks prior to her treatment. Her treatment will be a tablet of Radioactive Iodine. She will stay isolated in the hospital for 5-7 days while she's radioactive and they will feed her and change her bedding etc. Everything she comes into contact with in that week in hospital is destroyed. They know when she can come home when she stops giving off high levels of radiation.
I've raised just over half her costs, thanks to everyone who has supported her treatment, which is enough for the deposit when I admit her. If anyone would like to contribute to her costs through paypal, for when I have to bring her home. www.facebook.com/helpcurejosie/

You can see the blue hue on her fur here. This is exactly how she looks in real life. A real life painting.
Josie has hyperthyroidism. People wanted to help with her treatment, so I set up a facebook page for her. If you would like to support her treatment, I thank you so much. Details can be found here. She needs expensive Radioactive Iodine Treatment to cure her.

She's worried I will bring her inside. I have to bring them inside when I can't supervise them in the yard to keep them safe from the neighbours.
When I view these photos larger, they get grainy. My brother said it's because I've got the Iso on the highest setting. So now I have to try and get good photos with a lower iso. (after discovering that the highest Iso was getting good pictures).
I don't understand cameras, the physics, and I would love to learn the physics one day and understand it in my mind what I'm doing. I'm always guessing at the moment.

from her dental surgery.
Josie is recovering well from her dental surgery. She also seems to be more settled than before the surgery. I suspect her teeth were painful and affecting her behaviour.
I just wish her eye colour would return to that bright amber they once were. When the cats were poisoned, it affected their eyes, they never returned to their original bright colour or beauty.

On Thursday 19th May, Josie and I are waiting for our turn to see the vet. She had dental surgery. I decided to do her teeth before I give her the Radioactive Iodine treatment to make sure her teeth do not become a problem. The money from her donation funds for her treatment was not used for this. I doubt I'll be able to raise the money for her dental, and it had to be done. I swore I'd never take a loan to pay for vet fees, but things have been awful with the problems with the cats being poisoned, and the costs have blown out. I believe things will work out in the end, I'm just sure things will work out. I've never been one to borrow money.
I've been quite sick, gastro problems for about 3 days. Today, Saturday, I have improved a lot, but I still have to take it easy.

Josie has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and some flickr contacts offered to support her to get treatment that will cure her. I made a facebook page to allow anyone who wants to help Josie.

I'm working out this camera slowly. I discovered if I took it off auto and set the iso to the highest setting and used the macro when I moved in close, I can get some really good photos.

I've decided to let people help me get Josie her Radioactive Iodine treatment that is a cure for her Hyperthyroidism. I was hoping her condition would reverse, but it's not. I have had her tested for her kidney function and her vital organs and the result was excellent, so I am choosing to get her the treatment she needs if I can. I didn't want to go down this path unless I was absolutely sure there are no other problems. I also have her vet supporting me with her current costs at the moment. Apart from the hyperthyroidism,
Josie's blood tests show she is in excellent health.
I have made a face book page for her for the people who would like to help support her treatment.

I'm also hoping to get enough money to get her dental surgery done. Her teeth have been rotting from the inside out, and there is a terrible foul smell in her mouth. I've already booked her in for dental surgery next week as time passes the smell from her mouth gets worse.
I've never done anything like this before, yet people want to help, and I wouldn't be embarking on raising fund for Josie's treatment but for my flickr community offering, my Ipernity contact encouraging me to do it, and my vet keeping costs down with the view to get Josie cured.

She was rolling around in the sun attacked the table leg.
She's been on the thyroid medication for 25days. It really helps. She's due for more tests to see her levels and to see if her kidney function is ok.
She looks unhappy, as do all my cats at the moment.

Josie has hyperthyroidism.
Her kidneys are fine, in fact her Urea was a touch low.
Also her potassium was a touch low.
Everything else was fine.
It is caused by a tumour on the thyroid.
That's why she steals food and breaks into the oven.
But the mystery is she is overweight...she should be very thin with hyperthyroidism. (She did drop suddenly a bit of weight a few weeks ago)
Her TT4 measured 87. It should be betweem 10-60.
This is the reason she drinks so much.
My poor little girl. The local vet recommends a treatment called "RADIOACTIVE IODINE THERAPY". One treatment cures 95% of cases.
It is very expensive. I have to ring tomorrow to find out how much it costs.
Another option is surgery but it is very close to the parathyroid gland, and if he damages that, she will die, so he is reluctant to remove the tumour. And this operation would be expensive too.
And the final option of treatment is tablets, for life. It does not cure the problem and you will always be giving her blood tests to get the levels right and she will be on medication for life. Her blood pressure will always have to be watched monthly.
I'm not in a position to easily give her what she needs. And I have to make a decision soon.

Josie~who else of course!
Always into everything, can't turn my back. The door was ajar to allow the grill to cool down. I had made toast and heated up some meat in there. She's pulled the door right down and sneaking in there while I'm busy.
Busy Josie

She realises it's ok to be in that spot, she was worried at first, she's in a cat bed I store on the washing machine lid when they are not put outside.

I cut her cute paws off!! It is so difficult to get a nice photo of Josie up close. She has to run and muzzle into the camera or into my legs. I got this shot because I was pretending to ignore her and took the photo without looking to see if she was in the frame, otherwise she would have muzzled into the camera, so it's all right considering I was guessing the subject position.
Josie wants to know...
