Based on an old Jurassic recipe, this jaw breaker style sweet is certain to please any dentist specializing in crowns and implants. Early settlers in the Southwest misnamed this common species of juniper as a cedar. By the time that botanists correctly identified the tree many "cedar" place names had already been put on the map. Perhaps if those settlers had been gin drinkers they would have recognized the familiar scent of the berry produce by the tree.
