Observation Tower

When visiting the de Young Museum a trip to the top of the tower is recommended for a spectacular view of the park. This photo was taken by a Kowa Super 66 medium format film camera with a Kowa 1:5.6/110mm lens and Zenza Bronica 67mm SY48•2C(Y2) filter using Rollei RPX 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Enchanted

Although Arthur is long gone, the Lady of the Lake still remains, awaiting a new hero to give the mythical sword, Excalibur. Standing at the shoreline, I call for the elusive enchantress to come out of her castle beneath the water. The world again needs a savior, and though I may seem an unusual choice, I am prepared to take on the task. This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and SMC PENTAX 67 1:4 45mm lens with a Hoya HMC Y[K2] filter using Rollei RPX 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Impactful

The effect of events unfolding during the past week have altered the political landscape of my country dramatically. The abrupt change has also left clouds of uncertainty on the horizon. This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and SMC PENTAX 67 1:4 45mm lens with a HOYA HMC 82mm O[G] filter using Rollei RPX 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Earthly Landscape

I am envious of all of the missions to Mars that are underway. Lacking a rocket ship to launch my own mission, I have improvised and now find myself soaring above the stark terrain of a Mars-like landscape. This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and Super-Multi-Coated Takumar/6X7 1:4.5/75mm lens with a Pentax 67 82ø Y48(Y2) SMC filter using Rollei RPX 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Empty Track

Have we been railroaded by some of our leaders into dangerous territory? Do we move forward, stay put or go backwards? Still waiting for my train to come in . . . This photo was taken by an Hasselblad 500C medium format film camera with a Carl Zeiss Distagon 1:4 f=50mm lens and Zenza Bronica 67mm SO56•2C(YA3) filter using Rollei RPX 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Destination Uncertain

What lies over the horizon? We drive onward, hopeful of a safe arrival, wherever our journey’s end may take us.

Impact Zone

The news cycle is full of discoveries of new exoplanets and asteroids, some of them in trans-Neptunian orbits extremely far away from the sun with others orbiting closer to the earth. The study of these objects is important when considering the 'impact' such bodies might have to life on our planet. A sturdy chainlink fence curbs my curiosity as I attempt to get the perfect angle for a photo of one such collision that occurred 50,000 years ago.

Splendour in the Grass

Though nothing can bring back the hour Of splendour in the grass, of glory in the flower, We will grieve not, rather find Strength in what remains behind . . . [William Wordsworth] This photo was shot from a Hasselblad 500C medium format film camera with a Carl Zeiss Distagon 1:4 f=50mm lens and Zenza Bronica 67mm SO56•2C(YA3) filter using Rollei RPX 400 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.
