Recorded Time

01 Jan 2024 8 3 238
People record time by measured units so as to chronicle its passage. Certain events such as a New Year are observed and celebrated by much of mankind. Nature also keeps a record of time, chronicling its passage in the layers of rock, the rings of trees and many other methods as the seasons come and go. However it is recorded, time marches relentlessly onward into the future. This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and Super-Multi-Coated Takumar/6X7 1:4.5/75 lens with a Zenza Bronica 82mm L 1A filter using Fuji 160NS film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

The Great Divide

01 Sep 2020 8 213
Which way will get us safely out of this rut? I have heard horror stories about going either far left or ultra right. Isn’t there a midstream alternative? This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and Super-Multi-Coated Takumar/6X7 1:4.5/75 lens with a Zenza Bronica 82mm L 1A filter using Fuji 160NS film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Under an Alien Sun

02 Aug 2020 9 2 298
The leader of our great nation has publicized a group of prominent doctors decrying the use of masks and promoting cures for the pandemic that assails us. Upon a closer look at the work of these acclaimed physicians, I have discovered that Alien DNA is being used in the production of the medicines. Of course, this immediately motivated me to travel in my private interstellar spacecraft to search out the origins of this precious DNA. I have now arrived at an exoplanet destination that looks promising. With luck, I should be able to collect batches of Alien DNA to continue the valuable work of these noble doctors. This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and SMC PENTAX 67 1:4 45mm lens with a Zenza Bronica 82mm L 1A filter using CineStill 800T film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

After the Great Deluge

07 Jul 2020 6 3 167
The All Mighty created the deluge as an act of divine retribution against humanity because of the sinful state of mankind. The flood has at last subsided leaving the few survivors huddled together in shock. Will those who remain follow a more ethical life or will they be doomed as were their predecessors by falling into immorality? This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and Super-Takumar/6X7 1:2.4/105mm lens with a Kowa 081-B ø67 filter using Fuji Pro 400-H film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Desert Dessert

02 Jan 2021 12 10 382
Announcing a stunning discovery from a secret location on the fringe of the Mojave Desert in Southern California: A perfectly preserved, petrified layered dessert, probably a cream and cinnamon pastry of some type. It is presumed to be a leftover from an epic feast made by god-like beings of a distant geologic era. This matches up well with my theory that supreme entities are responsible for the spectacular red layered geology that is so widespread in the western states of the USA. The fossilized leftovers from their banquets litter the landscapes from California to Utah. I realize that my theories have been labeled as hair brained ideas of a raving lunatic by the so-called experts. This time, however, I believe that my discovery will at last redeem me. If not, I shall continue to live in the asylum peacefully and make no more fuss . . .

Confession

08 May 2020 19 17 324
Yes, I hopped the fence pictured in the lower left side of this photo. I could not help it! The view was so much better from this vantage point. Forgive my trespass . . . Just as an added feature, I challenge the viewers to find my travel companion, Bob, in this colorful landscape. He also hopped the fence . . . we are both guilty! There is no prize for discovering Bob other than the personal satisfaction that you might gain from your keen power of observation.
