Living Fossil

28 Feb 2021 5 193
The first ancestors of this "living fossil" appeared in the Paleozoic Era and were particularly prevalent in the Carboniferous Period and the Pennsylvanian Epoch where thick forests of this species (rising up to 100 feet tall) covered much of what is now North America and Europe. For time reference, this was over 300,000,000 (million) years ago. The carbon laid down by millions of years of these forests became coal fields through geologic processes. This photo was taken by a Hasselblad 500C medium format film camera and Carl Zeiss Sonnar 1:4 f=150mm T* lens attached to a Hasselblad 21mm extension tube with a Kowa L39•3C(UV) filter using Fuji 160NS film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitalized with Photoshop.

Jellyfish - The Real Truth

11 Aug 2017 4 1 635
I have discovered shocking evidence that will shake-up citizens around the world. Jellyfish actually come from land-based plants!! Further study will be needed to determine just how these primitive life forms make it into a marine environment. This is yet another piece of evidence confirming that "so-called" scientists are feeding us a plate of lies. I suspect a cover-up and huge conspiracy hiding the truth from the public. Contact your Tea Party Congressman today to pressure the government to finally reveal the truth to the public! This photo was taken by a Minolta Autocord LMX Chiyoko TLR medium format film camera with it's Seikosha-MX Rokkor 75mm f/3.2 & 3.5 twin lenses using Kodak Ektar 100 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Operation Buzz Drone

14 Aug 2016 1 454
Operation Buzz Drone has been shelved. The super secret program that mounted high resolution miniature spy cameras on bees was finally discontinued after it became clear that bees rarely cooperate when directed towards strategic targets. An unidentified Pentagon source added, "Just how many flower photos do we really need?", noting that the 500 billion dollar project had originally held great promise as a surveillance tool. "The savings achieved by dumping this program will now be wasted on another secret program", said the spokesman on the condition that he not be identified. This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera with a Super-Multi-Coated Takumar/6X7 1:4/200mm lens attached to a #1 Pentax 6X7 Extension Tube (14mm) using Fuji 160NS film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Horsetail

23 Jul 2016 2 2 421
Did you know that the simple Horsetail - [Equisetum hyemale] has a history from it's deep past which led to the industrialization of human civilization? Well, here is the story. A couple hundred years ago, or so, people discovered it's usefulness as an energy source and created the world we humans now live in. You probably never realized how this humble plant species formed the life we live today when, as a child, you pulled the segments of this reed apart!
